Being the most impressive building in Bangalore city, Vidhana Soudha attracts the tourists for its Dravidian architecture style of building. It houses the Legislative Chambers of the state government. Twenty two departments of state government are located inside it.
Vidhan Soudha was built in 1956 under the then chief minister of Karnataka, Mr. Kengal Hanumanthaiah as an honor to Indian temple architecture and it is mainly significant for its Dravidian architecture. Mainly granite was used to build this edifice by the engineer B.R. Manickam.

Architecture of the Vidhan Soudha
Vidhan Soudha is made out of pure of granite and porphyry; four domes on its four corners add beauty to it. The entrance of the building is embellished with Four-headed Lion, which is the national symbol of India. One has to take prior permission to enter this building. It wears a breathtakingly beautiful look on Sunday evenings and public holidays when it is flood lit.
