Ulsoor Lake located near the MG Road of the northeastern edge of the city is an exotic picnic spot in Bangalore. This lake dotted with islands covers an area of 1.5 square kilometers. It is said that this lake was constructed by Kempe Gowda II during the later half of the second century.
The boat club of the lake offers boating facilities. One can experience various boat rides on the lake. This lake has a recreational complex with a swimming pool.

The ancient name of Ulsoor Lake is Halsur or Alasur. During the Ganesha Festival celebrated in the month of August and September, Ulsoor Lake is a venue for celebration. The largest Sikh Shrine of the Bangalore city is located near the Ulsoor Lake which is visited by Sikh devotees. A temple dedicated to Subbaraya and the Kensington Park are also located near the Lake.
