As its name suggests Gandhi Bhavan of Bangalore is built in memory of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation to preserve his memories of life and teachings. It is located on the Kumara Krupa Road, and initially it was started as Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi (GSN) and the first chairman was Dr Rajendra Prasad, the then President of India.

The main attraction of Gandhi Bhavan Bangalore is the picture gallery of Mahatma Gandhi which displays the various moments of his life. It has a collection of photographs from his childhood to the last day of his life. Apart from this there are Photostat copies written by Gandhiji to some major personalities. Famous quotes of Gandhiji are displayed on the walls of the Bhavan. Various public meetings on Gandhian values are held at this Bhavan now. It remains closed on Sunday and on other public and national holidays.
