Located at the entrance of Cubbon Park, Bangalore Aquarium attracts the eyes of the tourist. An octagonal shaped building houses this aquarium that boasts of a rich aquatic life. It is the second largest building in India having a total of 3 floors.
Bangalore Aquarium is looked after by the State Government's Department of Fisheries. The aquatic lives displayed in the aquarium are both cultivable and ornamental. Both indigenous and exotic fresh water fishes are seen in the aquarium, the fishes are angel fish, glow light tetra, red tail shark, Siamese fighters, catla, Indian tiger barb, mahseer, freshwater prawns, blue gourami, gold fish, etc.

The ground floor of the building houses the office and the laboratory. The 14 big tanks of the first floor are home to a wide variety of cultivable fish. The upper row has 23 tanks and the lower row has 46 small tanks, both of which are home to ornamental fish.
