The Banashankari temple of Bangalore was established in 1915 by Somanna Shetty, a devotee of Banashankari Amma. This temple is situated on Kanakapura road. It is now under the management of Endowment Department of the Government of Karnataka.
It is said that Somanna Shetty installed a deity of Amma that has been brought from Badami of Bijaipur district. People believe that worshipping Banashankari Amma in Rahukala one can get rid of all the hardships in life. Devotees pray here on the days of Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, which are considered as auspicious moments.

Cultural Ceremonies of the temple
Annual ceremonies are held at this temple. The first ceremony is organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Banashankari Amma, on September 13. The second ceremony is celebrated as a part of Dussehra festival which falls in the months of October or November. One more ceremony is held in December or January to mark the anniversary of the temple.
