Bannerghatta National Park is just 21 kilometers away from Bangalore city and can be easily reached by any public means of transportation. Wildlife lovers can set out excursion tour to this national park of Karnataka state. It is nestled amidst the picturesque environment. The main attraction of the park is lion and tiger, yet other attractions are crocodile and snake farm. This national park includes 10 forest reserves of Anekel range of the Bangalore Forest division.

The Butterfly Park of Bannerghatta National Park is first of its kind in India. It is a result of the joint efforts of Zoo Authority of Karnataka, University of Agricultural Sciences and the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment (ATREE). It covers an area of 7.5 acres and it has a conservatory of butterfly, a museum and an audio visual room. 20 species of butterflies are kept in the conservatory. The setting has a tropical climate with humidity to suit the butterflies. The museum houses various dioramas which are displayed to the visitors.
